A/N This is a remix-kind of- of Fruits Basket. Only instead of it being about Tohru Honda, it's about Me . Yep. Tohru will still be used, but only as a background friend at school. My temperature Only worsened that night. Shigure sat near me to check I was Ok.
I heard a wolf Howl,
"There's been another landslide," Shigure murmered.
Yuki looked up, "Was it close?" He asked.
"Close to the tent- I mean  NOT CLOSE AT ALL" He quickly corrected himself.
I quickly ran out to where the tent had been, now there was just a heap of earth cascading down apon it.
"AHHH.. No mum's picture was in there!" I flung myself at the mound, "Mum, Mum, Mum!" I cried, scrabbling at the dirt.
"Miss Crutcher, please, you'll only exhaust yourself, you already have a fever," Yuki's voice sounded by my ear.
"But.. mum, I have to get her out.." I whimpered,
"We'll come back tomorrow, when it's light. Come on, you should lie down before you do any more damage to yourself."
Back at the house I was son sent to sleep on the floor of the main room, Shigure sittin gnear my again and Yuki sorting something out in the kitchen.
"I guess it was my fault," I whimpered, he looked up, "On the day she died, I had a test, I'd been studying all night and was still in bed when she left for work, I told her every day 'Bye, be safe,' Except that day. I couldn't be bothered to get up out of bed.. and.. She never came back," A silent tear ran down my face as I fell into a troubled sleep.

Shigure looked over the sleeping girl to check she was Ok. Poor girl, He thought.
"It's amazing," He looked up, Yuki stood before him, staring at her, "She always seemed so happy at school, she always had a smile on her face. You would never have thought she was suffering like this. I remember the day her mother died, The school secretary came and called her out of class, they spoke for a second and then she ran off down the hallway. I just thought that a family member had been hurt at the time..."
"She's definately been through an ordeal." He admitted.

I woke up, and mum was standing right in front of me,
"Mum?" I whispered. "How did you get here?"
"Good Morning..." Yuki's voice came from the door.
"Yuki!"
"I've brought your things for you," He nodded to some bags near me.
"Thankyou- But Yuki that must have taken you all night!"
"Nonsense, it wasn't hard,"
"Thankyou,"
"You know, We do have a spare room, and I understand that the thought of living with two strange men isn't appealing, but we'd be happy to take you on for a few weeks, until you can go back," Yuki mumbled
"Oh, no I couldn't, I've already caused you so much trouble..."
"Then you accept? As the job of our new Houuusseekeeepper!" Shigure popped up behind me and sung.
"Oh no.. I don't want to be a bother.."
"Miss Crutcher, we're doing this because we want to, don't worry whether it's causing us any trouble or not," He smiled.
"Uh- Ok... I guess," I said, staring into his eyes, they weren't kidding when they called him a prince! " But I'll work for room and board only, I odn't want any money or anything else. I want to earn my keep."
They nodded, Shigure already hauling my belongings up the stairs.
A clock chimed in the house, 7.
"SEVEN." I shot up, still in my school uniform, "I've got to get to school,"
"I'd be happy to walk you," Yuki smiled.

"Do you think having a girl in the house is a good idea?" Shigure asked before they came back downstairs.
"Why are you so worried now, you weren't when you came up with the idea" Yuki replied.

"Hey, You!" 3 Girls walked up to me, fan girls, fear and anger blazing on their faces, "Why were you walking to school with prince Yuki? Hmmmm?"
"I- I- He just umm.. met me on the way" I smiled.
"Hey, leave her alone, will you?" Uo stared at them menacingly,
"If you don't leave her alone, then we might have to... do something about it" Hana murmered.
Th fan girls screamed and ran away. I smiled.
"Thanks,"
"Don't mention it, So you're Okay today? We got quite worried that you were ill yesterday..."
"No, I am fine," I smiled.

I walked happily home. I had a home! I was very exited. Yuki walked along with me, we couldn't bring ourselves to say anything to eachother but the mood was good.
"Miss Crutcher, I'll show you to your room now..." Yuki smiled,
"Kay,"
Wen entered, my things were already layed out, and there was a desk in the corner with my mother's photograph set on it.
"It's very nice," I smiled
"Well, I don't know about that," Yuki said, walking over to open the window.
Just then there was a crashing sound and a hole in the rool appeared, dropping a tall boy with firey hair and red-brown eyes in. He was fairly muscular and he pulled his sleeves up, evidently not realising I was there.
"Yo, rat-boy, it's time to pay the bills," He said, almost growling
Yuki sighed. "Honestly, don't you ever disappear?" He murmered.
"No- wait- DON'T FIGHT!" I shouted, as the boy lunged at Yuki, I jumped after him, trying to stop him but I tripped on something and fell onto him. There was a 'PUFF' and a cloud of orange smoke.
"Yuuki" Shigure said, peering round the door, "What were al those crashings? Kyo's not here is he?"
As the smoke cleared I looked up, I was holding a moddy looking orange cat.
"AHHHH I turned him into a cat? CALL THE DOCTOR, WE HAVE TO GET HIM TO A DOCTOR" I panicked.
"Tohhrruu-" Shigure called.
"Uh, Miss Honda?" Yuki asked slowly.
I fell onto them and there were two more 'PUFFS' instead of Shigure and Yuki, now in front of me was a rat and a large black dog.
AHHH, I screamed inwardly,Oh mum, I think this really must be a dream. Everyone is turning into animals!

There was a bang on the door.
"Here I am, you're ever faithful mail-man, delivering today's mail!" A call came.
I scooped them up, and thudded down the stairs, throwing open the door.
"Mr Mailman, LOOK THEY'RE ANIMALS" I shreeked.
He smiled, a little embarresed, "Why, so they are!"
The dog that was supposedly shigure reached out and grabbed the letter out of the post-man's hand.
"My, I wish my dog could do that!" He smiled, "Bye!"
"Uh-" I knelt on the floor.
"And Just How do you expect me to explain all this of both of you transform too, You damn rat?"
"Stupid cat,"
"WHY DON'T YA SAY THAT AGAIN TO MY FACE?"
"Stupid... cat!"
"Uh- They talk?" I repeated.
"Guys, GUYS," The dog bark-spoke, "There's no good fighting over what's done now, is there?"
He turned to me, "Genne, I guess we should start out properly, I'm a dog, Yuki here, he's a rat, and that ball of fury sitting in the corner over there is Kyo. Don't let his temper scare you, he's just got an anger chip on his shoulder,"
I stared.
"Uh.. You see, the Sohmas live under the curse of the Zodiac, basically whenever our bodies ocme under too much pressure or we are hugged by the member of the opposite sex, we transform into the 12 animals of the zodiac."

I quickly turned round and blushed.
