I urged Rella on down the valley, behind the castle, into a small cave. I needed to reach Ray one last time.

Ray...

Emily

What part are you being held at

Emily you are not coming for me

I am coming whether you like it or not, now do you want me to wander blindly until I am caught and they kill me, or do you want me to find you and help you.

He sighed Fine, you give me no other choice. He flashed a picture through corridors, to a large room with chains on the walls. I memorised it... Right.. left.. left.. right... straight on... right.. right... first door on the left..

Hurry, there is no one on guard at the moment, but it wont be long before there is.

I Hurried back into reality.

I ran through corridors that twisted and turned, up staircases. Until I came to the room Ray had described. I pressed my ear to the door, I couldn't hear anything. I found myself thinking about my conversation with Ray, he had seemed stunned by my appearance, I looked down at myself. I was in a nice dress I guessed. It frilled in pleats at the bottom, and the top it was very fancy. Bows and frills everywhere. I decided I ws a little obvious. So I focussed on a cloak, a long , dark brown one. With one of thos large flexible hoods that made the person looking at you only able to see your chin.

Then I opened the door. The room was empty.

----

Someone was in the room. Someone was was in, but would they guess it was a duisguise. Would they guess that Ray was hidden behind an invisibilty layer. Ray coughed hard.

----

I heard the cough, where had it come from? I wasked towards the sound. I felt a prickly sensation in my skin, then suddenly a whole different aspect of the room appeared. Ray was there, chained to the wall.

----

The figure approached, and then flung itself down and started scrabbling round, trying to cut Ray loose. Ray looked up, they flung back their hood. Her Bright eyes displayed only sadness, and her face was framed with worry.

"Ray..." She whispered, before he passed out.

----

I had to cut him loose, he was weakening by the second. In reality his wounds were even deeper, and blood was pouring from them. I looked around desperately, there must be a key. Suddenly the door opened. A Carmen stomped in, carrying a whip.. a sword and the keys.

As soon as it walked through the invisibiltiy layer I punched it, and stole the sword from it, defending Ray with my life. It regained it's balance and stood to it's full height. I didn't want to kill it - but wouldn't it kill me? I had to.

It grinned wickedly at me. "You!" it smiled.

"Yes me!"

I slammed the sword into it's stomach. It keeled over and my sword fell to the floor. I grbbed the keys and the sword, not wishing to spend another moment in this place or to see its oozing corpse. I quickly unlocked Ray and he fell against me. I pulled him to the door.. but he was too heavy for me. I slumped, out of breath and then kicked the wall. He opened his eyes.

"Emily?"

"What happened?"

"I got you free." I smiled.

----

But she couldn't move Ray. He tried to stand, she quickly got up and put his arm around her shoulders.

"Come on," She whispered, wincing with the pain she still felt, " Let't get you out of here"

They stumbled along the corridors, just trying desperately to get out, and thanking god for their luck that no Carmen had found them yet. Unfortunately the luck didn't last long. 5 Carmen came charging round the corner. Ready to kill either of them. Emily slumped Ray to one side, not wishing for him to get hurt further, then threw back her hood - sword at the ready.

Ray watched as she fought - magnificently. She had knocked unconcious the Carmen in less than 3 minutes, and escaped with only a few cuts and a gash on her cheek.

Then she pulled him along, and out of the castle. She whistled for Rella, and then helped Ray onto her, before mounting her herself and galloping into the dawn.
